After upgrading to Kubuntu Hardy (and therefore Firefox 3) selecting checkboxes and radio buttons suddenly got a bit annoying. Firefox always put a grey shaded rectangle of the selected checkbox or radio button so that it was impossible to see if it had been selected or not.
Apparently it’s no Firefox bug but a KDE one. The fix that worked for me is to install the package “gtk2-engines-qtcurve”, then open kcontrol and go to Appearance -> GTK Styles and change the GTK Styles to “QtCurve”.
Update: The same procedure seems to resolve the problem in Kubuntu Intrepid with KDE 4.1.
